Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Hey Everyone,
Finally with all of the craziness in my life winding down I am back with another blog post. Today I wanted to address one of the most frequently asked questions I see on the internet from people planning trips to Disney. "Is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party worth all the extra money?"

This year I actually attended my FIRST EVER MVMCP (I have only been to the Halloween party before). I went on the opening night, so I wanted to review my experience for you, in case you were planning a trip for the next holiday season and were wondering if it was something you should do.

If you didn't already know, MVMCP is a special ticketed event in Magic Kingdom that runs on select nights from the beginning of November until Christmas. The park is only open to guests who purchase the special tickets for the event. The event begins at 7pm, but guests with party tickets are able to enter the park as early as 4pm (if you have extra park tickets for that morning or annual passes you could be in the park even earlier).

I'm going to give you guys the reasons why I feel that MVMCP was in fact worth every extra penny I spent on the tickets. I also failed to mention that tickets start at $95 per adult and go up to around $120 closer to Christmas. Some nights do sell out so I would absolutely recommend purchasing these in advance.

So, here it goes... reasons to spend the money and go to MVMVP:

5. A Frozen Holiday Wish, Holiday Wishes and the Christmastime Parade.
-Coming in at number 5 you have these three wonderful events that you can only catch during the Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom. Seeing Elsa light up the castle is literally jaw-dropping. It is so beautiful! Plus, how often can you see a firework show set to christmas music? Finally, definitely catch the parade! It actually runs twice, so a pro tip is to watch the second one because it is usually much less crowded since it is later!

Here is a before and after of the castle lighting. IT IS BREATHTAKING!

4. Hot chocolate, cookies, and all of the free holiday goodies!
-"Free" and "Disney" are not usually two words that go together, so definitely take advantage of this opportunity. There are so many free treats that you can find at designated locations around the Magic Kingdom, including cookies of all sorts, hot chocolate, snow cones, and much more!

3. Special character meet and greets
-Special ticketed events like parties are great opportunities to meet characters that you may not be able to meet on a normal day in the parks. For example, at MVMCP you can meet Jack Skellington dressed up as Sandy Claws, the Seven Dwarves, and characters dressed up in their Christmas Attire like Santa Goofy.

2. Rides with little to no wait times
-This is one of my favorite things about the special ticketed events in Walt Disney World. Since tickets are limited, you can find yourself during the night getting on very popular rides with little to no wait. If characters and parades are not your thing, definitely take advantage of this. During the first parade I actually walked on to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad TWICE in a row. Keep an eye on your My Disney Experience app and take advantage of when wait times drop down really low.

1. It SNOWS on Main Street, USA
Last but not least is just the magic and wonder of Disney World during the Holiday season. Bring there, seeing snow falling on Main Street, drinking hot chocolate, and basking in the magic of Christmas was such an amazing feeling. I'd 100% recommend bringing your love ones and beginning the holidays with some feel-good Disney fun.

Overall, we had a fantastic time, and we cannot wait to do it again next year!!!
Let me know if you have any additional questions about MVMCP or with any suggestions for upcoming blog posts.

Wishing you and your loved ones a magical holiday season.
See Ya Real Soon,
Katie
